Call for Applications: Darmasiswa Scholarship in Indonesia

VMU academic community is invited to send applications for Darmasiswa, non-degree scholarship program offered by the government of the Republic of Indonesia to people from countries which have diplomatic relations with Indonesia. The main purpose of the Darmasiswa program is to promote Indonesian language and culture to foreign countries.

The scholarship program covers studies of Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian language), traditional arts, traditional art crafting, tourism, culinary and other  studies on selected issues such as Islamic studies in Indonesia, Environment, Indonesian Politics and Southeast Asia Economy. Participant can choose one of 53 higher education institutions located in different cities in Indonesia.

The Darmasiswa program is available in three types: as a one year, 6-month or 3-month program. One year scholarship program offers foreigners to study Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian Language) or local language, Indonesian traditional dances, Indonesian traditional music, traditional art crafting, culinary, tourism and other field of studies at selected Indonesian higher education institutions for one year. It is also possible to study the selected field in an Indonesian higher education institution of one’s choice for six or three months.

Candidates must submit their applications to the Indonesian Embassy until mid-February 2012. The results of the selection will be announced until beginning of April.
