VMU Rector Attended the Australia-Lithuania Business and Science Forum

On 18-20 October, the Rector of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), Prof. Juozas Augutis, together with the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, and representatives of other national scientific and business organisations, attended the first Victoria-Lithuania Business, Science and Research Forum held in Melbourne, Australia.
During the event, Lithuanian entrepreneurs and scientists had the opportunity to learn about the prosperous Australian market and forge partnerships with local organisations.
The delegation of Lithuanian scientists, led by the Chairman of the Research Council of Lithuania (RCL), Dr. Gintaras Valinčius, visited Australian scientific institutions, met with representatives of the scientific community and the diaspora, and discussed with their Australian colleagues the prospects for academic cooperation between Lithuania and Australia.
The visit also included meetings with representatives of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, the National Health and Medical Research Council, the International Association of Universities (IAU), and other science and business organisations in the state of Victoria.
During the meeting with Professor Katie Stevenson, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Monash University, VMU Rector Prof. Juozas Augutis, presented a book on the works of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis as a token of remembrance.
