VMU to host Interdisciplinary Conference “Intelligent & Autonomous”

Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) Faculty of Law together with Department of Public Communication would like to invite you to the International Interdisciplinary Conference „Intelligent and Autonomous: Emergent Digital Technologies and the Challenges of Disinformation, Security and Regulation“. The conference will be held on March 12, 2021, and will take place online.
The growing datafication and algorithmisation of society, the emergence of the platform economy, mediatization of everyday life, and the growing adoption of machine learning and AI-powered tools and services are transforming contemporary societies at an unprecedented pace. We will gather online at an international online conference on 12 March 2021 to discuss these topical issues.
The Conference will feature two Keynote Addresses:
Deep Mediatization: Automation, Datafication and the Re-figuration of Society by Andreas Hepp, University of Bremen.
Copyright Protection Systems: Intelligent and Autonomous? by Eleonora Rosati, Stockholm University, Of Counsel, Bird & Bird.
During the panel discussions digital technologies and their practical implications and uses, challenges of governance in the digital age, AI’s legal personality, military use of AI, and new technologies and disinformation will be discussed. Keynote addresses and panel discussion will followed by a public discussion.
Up to 100 people will be able to join the conference via Zoom and take part in the discussions. The conference will also be streamed live on Youtube and you will be able to write your questions and take part in the discussions that way!
