First Visit by New Georgia Ambassador at VMU in Lithuania

On September 4, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) welcomed H.E. Levan Gvachliani, the Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Lithuania. The first visit of the ambassador was indeed fruitful: he met with Rector Juozas Augutis, Ms. Ineta Dabašinskienė, Vice-Rector for International Relations, and Ms. Ilona Kazlauskaitė, Director of the International Cooperation Department.
His Excellency expressed his warm regard towards cooperation initiatives between our respective countries and the contribution of VMU towards strengthening the academic ties with the institutions of higher education in Georgia.
He also expressed his hope that VMU could introduce Georgian language courses and assured that the embassy would offer its support in their preparation.
After the meeting in the Rector’s Office, the ambassador met with Georgian students who study at VMU. The meeting took place in the VMU Multifunctional Center for Studies and Research, in a room named after a celebrated medieval Georgian poet Shota Rustaveli. The room was officially opened last year as one more result of cooperation between VMU and the Embassy of Georgia.
