Winners of the VMU Doctoral Competition Announced

In October, VMU doctoral students and doctors who have defended their dissertations no later than a year ago were invited to participate in the science popularisation competition “Doctoral Research 2022: the Interesting Science” (“Doktorantų tyrimai 2022: įdomusis mokslas”). The aim of the competition is to increase the visibility of VMU doctoral students’ research and to encourage as well as develop their ability to present their research not only in a scientific way, but also in a popular way – in a way that is comprehensible to the general public and that arouses their curiosity.
16 participants in total, preparing dissertations in the fields of social sciences, humanities, agriculture, and natural sciences, submitted their work to the competition.
After reviewing the submitted works, the committee selected the following winners:
- 1st place winner – Paulina Martusevičė (agricultural sciences).
- 2nd place winner – Neringa Barauskaitė (natural sciences).
- 3rd place winner – Gintarė Leckė (social sciences).
The winners will be awarded one-time prizes. The competition is funded by the VMU Vice-Rector for Research Fund.
