On Friday 9 February, 3 p.m., at the VMU Centre for Research and Studies (23 V. Putvinskio, Room 106), an event will be held dedicated to the collection of items and writing of letters to Ukrainian soldiers. The event, titled With Warmest Regards from Lithuania, is organised by the VMU Centre of Ukraine and VMU Centre of Mariupol State University. Everyone is welcome to join and support Ukrainian troops. Those who wish to attend the event are invited to register online.

For almost two years now, Ukrainian soldiers have been defending not only the right to independence of their own country, but also the peace and independence of the entire Free Europe. The experience of volunteering and support shows that even small actions can lead to great results. We invite you to unite in collecting extremely necessary things for everyday use for defenders who meet every frosty day of this winter in a trench on the front`s first line of defence.

Items that are welcome to be donated include: power banks, headlamps, warm/thermal socks, warm/thermo insoles, energy protein bars or Snickers bars, vitamins (all types are needed, especially vitamin C, D, and multivitamins). Letters and postcards of support are especially welcome, as they bring a lot of happiness to the Ukrainian defenders.

The collected items will be delivered in 3-4 days by a Ukrainian post office located in Kaunas. The employees of Mariupol State University will take them directly to the front.

The items will be collected at the lobbies of the VMU Centre for Research and Studies (23 V. Putvinskio g., Kaunas), VMU dormitory Baltija (71 Vytauto Pr., Kaunas), and VMU Dormitory No. 5 (8 Universiteto g., Akademija, Kaunas District).
