The aim of the course is to introduce students with general concept of cultural history. The topics of the course are arranged to achieve the following objectives: to present the main cultural periods of Ancient Greece and Rome, to survey the main differences between Greek and Roman ways if culture. Results to be achieved: students will be able to identify the peculiarity of ancient culture; to describe the main peculiarities of Greek and Roman cultures. Teaching methods: lectures and individual work.

Šis pasirenkamasis dalykas skirtas bakalauro studijų studentams, kurie domisi Antikos epochos dvasine ir materialine kultūra.Studentai įgys žinių apie Antikinės kultūros specifiką, pagrindines Graikijos bei Romos istorines-kultūrines epochas. Dalyko studijų metodai apima paskaitas, rašytinių šaltinių analizę bei jų pagrindu parengtus referatus. Kurso metu remiamasi kontekstinės analizės metodu.Todėl studentai, išklausę šį kursą, gebės analizuoti antikos kultūrines epochas, remdamiesi istoriniais, rašytiniais ir ikonografiniais šaltiniais.
