VMU to Support Students Who Suffered Repressions by Belarus Government
VMU has established a support fund for students admitted to the university who have been expelled or persecuted for civil and/or political reasons due to the repressive actions of the government of Belarus and consequently could not continue their studies due to the fear of an unsafe environment, thus terminating their studies in the institutions of higher education in Belarus.

Competition for VMU Graduate Ignas Bielevičius Nominal Scholarship
Mr. Ignas Bielevičius, a graduate of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), Faculty of Informatics, who graduated from his Bachelor’s studies in 2009, established two nominal, one-off, annual scholarships of 500EUR for VMU students. The purpose of these scholarships is to financially encourage students for their good study results and active participation in scientific and/or social activities.

Free online lecture about Lithuanian Language and Culture
In January of 2021, Vytautas Magnus University organises online Lithuanian Language and Culture Winter Course. The gloomy January in the background of the pandemic is a great month to learn Lithuanian, getting to know its culture and history. Nowadays, foreigners and world Lithuanians can learn Lithuanian in their own countries, at the comfort of their home, outside, in their cars or on a ship. From the States to the faraway Australia, from Lithuania to Japan: people meet in these courses united by the inspiring goal to learn all things Lithuanian.

New Disability Coordinator Starts Working at the VMU
In setting its strategic goals to increase accessibility and ensure equal opportunities for all members of the community to participate in the academic and community life of the university, Vytautas Magnus University has restored a position of Disability Coordinator, which will now be held by Ms. Miglė Janušauskaitė.

President Adamkus Prize to be Awarded for Environmental Achievements
The person of President Valdas Adamkus and his achievements are inseparable from his environmental protection career in the Region 5 of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency: the largest of all EPA regions. At the time, this region included 20 percent of the country’s population, a quarter of its industry, and even larger amount of pollution problems. And all of this took place alongside the largest source of freshwater: the Great Lakes.
