Ambassador of Spain to Hold a Public Lecture at VMU
On October 3rd at 16.00, Her Excellency the Ambassador of Spain in Lithuania, María Nieves Blanco Díaz will give a lecture titled “NATO as an International Organisation: Security Challenges and Future Perspectives” at the Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy (V. Putvinskio st. 23-311). The lecture will be conducted in English and is open to anyone interested.

Conference on Contemporary Studies of Family and Calendar Holidays
The Department of Cultural Studies at Vytautas Magnus University is pleased to announce an international conference on "Contemporary Studies of Family and Calendar Holidays: Challenges and Perspectives”, to be held on 14th October 2023 at Vytautas Magnus University, Faculty of Humanities, V. Putvinskio st. 23, Kaunas, Lithuania. The conference celebrates the 30th anniversary of ethnological studies at Vytautas Magnus University. VMU Receives High Scores in the QS European University Rankings
In the first-ever QS ranking focused exclusively on European universities (QS World University Rankings: Europe 2024), Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) achieved outstanding rankings: it was ranked third in Europe for the Faculty-Student Ratio, 30th for Inbound Exchange Students, and 114th for Outbound Exchange students.

Information Session on Study and Research Opportunities in Germany
On Thursday, 28 September at 2 pm. the DAAD Information Centre Riga (DAAD = German Academic Exchange Service) will host an information session for students and researchers of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) about academic opportunities in Germany and DAAD scholarships. The event is open for pupils and their parents, students, researchers, and anyone who is interested!

Competition for the scholarship of S. Banaitis
Saliamonas Banaitis scholarship was established at the University in 2016 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the restoration of Lithuanian statehood by his grandchildren living in Canada. The aim of the scholarship is to support and encourage the most talented students at the University conducting research related to personalities, organisations, events or processes of the First Independent Republic of Lithuania (1918-1940), which in one way or another are connected with the activities and environment of the signatory of the Act, S. Banaitis.
