Scholarships and Other Benefits are Increasing

By a resolution of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, the amount of the Basic Social Benefit (BSI) changes as of January 2026 – from EUR 70 to EUR 74. As the BSI changes, the amounts of benefits linked to it, including scholarships awarded to students, also change accordingly.

University scholarships awarded for academic performance

For students of first- and second-cycle full-time studies, integrated studies, and professional studies, the amounts of incentive scholarships change as follows:

• Basic scholarships (amounting to 2 BSI) – from EUR 140 to EUR 148 per month;
• Increased scholarships (4 BSI) – from EUR 280 to EUR 296 per month.

For students of first- and second cycle extended-form studies and professional studies at the Education Academy and the Agriculture Academy, the incentive scholarship amounts change as follows:

• Basic scholarships (1.3 BSI) – from EUR 91 to EUR 96.20 per month;
• Increased scholarships (2.6 BSI) – from EUR 182 to EUR 192.40 per month.

The one-time social scholarship (which may be up to 4 BSI) changes from EUR 280 to EUR 296, while the one-time incentive scholarship (which may be up to 5 BSI) changes from EUR 350 to EUR 370. More information about university-awarded scholarships can be found here.
