Celebration of the New Academic Year at VMU

On September 1st, we invite the Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) community to celebrate the start of the new academic year in Kaunas and Vilnius. Let’s celebrate science, new beginnings, and a promising time of the year and life!

In Kaunas, we will begin the celebration at 1 p.m. with a festive university procession. After gathering by the Monument of Vytautas the Great on Laisvės Alėja, we will proceed toward Studentų Skveras (28 S. Daukanto St.).

At 2 p.m., a celebratory concert will take place at Studentų Skveras (28 S. Daukanto), featuring the VMU academic choir Vivere Cantus and Evgenya Redko.

Those who wish to attend the Holy Mass are welcome to join the service at 12 p.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul (1 Vilniaus St.).

In Vilnius, the academic year opening celebration will begin at 10 a.m. in the lobby of VMU Education Academy (31 T. Ševčenkos St.).
