The the article discusses how social workers describe successful professional relationships in the process of working with a family seeking to highlight the successful efforts of social workers to create this interaction by focusing on the relationship-building aspect in the initial and implementation phases of the helping process. To achieve the aim of the study, a qualitative study was conducted, using a semi-structured interview method. The study involved seven social workers working with families in an institution providing social services. The age of the study participants is from 24 to 63 years. The main criterion for the selection of participants: a social worker who has been working with the family for at least two years. The results of the data demonstrate that during the initial contact, the social worker forms a sense of security and trust in herself by creating conditions for deeper mutual acquaintance (naming goals, providing hope, clearing family situation and expectations). Building relationship, raising human value and accepting the clients as they are, not blaming, empathizing them are important conditions not only fostering a sense of security, but also increasing self-confidence, which determines the client’s higher motivation for change. According to the research data, if a social worker has the goal of developing a relationship with the family, seeking to understanding, rather than focusing on problems, this presupposes the successful development of the relationship. The study showed that in developing relationships, it is very important to discuss the mutual relationship with the family, as it contributes to raising the family’s awareness.

The article contains the results of the survey on the demand of social workers in stationary health institution. The survey was carried out by the method of anonymous interrogation. 50 health care institution medics from the Alytus district and 174 patients were questioned. The research confirmed the need of social workers in stationary health care institutions.Social workers' activity in health care institutions, according to the medics, has to do with consultations and rendering information on social issues, with provision of psychological help and resolving patients' everyday life problems. Respondents-patients claim that it has to do with rendering information and consulting on social issues, representing patients as well as ensuring the succession of social services. The individual's health care perfomed by a social worker in health care institutions will be successful if the stationary curing departments, social service, the institutions providing information and certain social services, other health care institutions (Primary Health Care Centres, medical help, nursing curing stationeries, medical rehabilitation and sanatorium institutions) and social work evaluation group would work not as separate structures, but as unanimous, able to collaborate and interested in work effectiveness institutions.

Straipsnyje analizuojama socialinių darbuotojų, dirbančių socialinės globos namuose ir teikiančių psichologinę, formalių problemų sprendimo, socialinę pagalbą tiek adaptacijos laikotarpiu, tiek ir vėliau, atsakomybė už socialinės globos namų gyventojų adaptacijos sėkmę bei kasdienio gyvenimo kokybę. Tyrimu nustatyta, kad absoliuti socialinės globos namų gyventojų dauguma patenkinta socialinių darbuotojų teikiamų paslaugų kokybe, ir didesnė dalis gyventojų sėkmingai adaptuojasi pensione, palaiko ryšius su bendruomenės nariais, jiems aktualios problemos sėkmingai sprendžiamos socialinės globos namuose. Socialiniai darbuotojai padeda socialinės globos namų gyventojams, mažinant priklausomybės, nesavarankiškumo bei psichologinių problemų baimes, spręsti aktualias problemas, palengvinti gyventojų socialinę adaptaciją ir kasdienybę. Taigi socialinių darbuotojų vaidmuo socialinės globos namuose tiek gyventojų socialinės adaptacijos, tiek kasdieniame gyvenime yra veiksmingas.

Straipsnyje aptariama socialinio darbuotojo kompetencijos samprata, jos struktūra, kuria remiantis sudarytas socialinių darbuotojų praktinės veiklos vertinimas. Taip pat aptariami socialinių darbuotojų kvalifikaciniai reikalavimai, kurie leidžia įvertinti socialinio darbuotojo kompetencijos lygį, nusakantį socialinio darbuotojo atitikimą tam tikrai kvalifikacinei kategorijai. Atlikto tyrimo metu analizuotos socialinių darbuotojų kompetencijos, atskleistas socialinių darbuotojų požiūris į naujus kvalifikacinius reikalavimus.

The present work with preschool education show us the previous and present structure of education favour effecting. Like I have presented it in my work Social worker’s part in preschool education institution – modeling social favour rendering. The one education system purpose is that prospect pedagogical community needing to analyze social work changing nowadays education dimension contest. One of topicality is that in XXI age progressive pedagogical study like the education system outlasts new time and also has the new theoretical and practical point. The one leading purpose – universal person’s can development reformatted education accommodation: The elevating person, who can tune to him, surrounding social ambient, moral, graft for children demanding social lineament and internal. At the country where is social, economical and cultural changing just showing us the social and educated favour development. Considering market – led term and competition the new technologies chance must be quit good seeing at all that and actually the person’s mutability and public social needed and them do.

The article discusses and analyses the role and activity possibilities of a social worker in the rural community. The role of a social worker in the rural community was researched through possibilities of social educational inclusion in order to ascertain the conditions of empowering activity, internal attitudes of community members in the aspect of empowering, collaboration level among different institutions. The results of the qualitative research performed at nine rural elderships of different districts in Žemaitija region revealed difficulties faced by social workers in rural areas integrating people into the active life applying educational means. The essential obstacles, which prevent rural people from opening for social – educational inclusion, include their conservative thinking, habit to live only on social benefits, their prevailing pessimism and apathy.

Straipsnyje atskleistas socialinių darbuotojų, dirbančių vaikų globos namuose, požiūris į įgytas bendrąsias kompetencijas. Apibendrinant gautus rezultatus, nustatyta, kad neatsižvelgiant į vietovės tipą, dauguma respondentų yra įgiję arba iš dalies įgiję gebėjimą kritiškai, analitiškai ir sistemiškai mąstyti, o tai leidžia daryti prielaidą, kad darbo metu socialiniai darbuotojai puikiai įvertina susidariusias aplinkybes, problemas, moka jas analizuoti, kritiškai pažvelgti bei susisteminti gautus rezultatus, tuo gerindami savo darbo kokybę. Akcentuojama, kad, siekiant suteikti kokybiškas paslaugas, socialiniai darbuotojai turėtų bendradarbiauti su kitais specialistais, kurie padėtų tobulinti gebėjimus atsirinkti reikiamą jų darbui naujausią informaciją.
