Abstract
The aim of this research was to show correlation between self evaluation and anxiety for primary school pupils. In the scale of self evaluation 8 parameters were analyzed: “strong” “beautiful” “hard working” “intelligent” “talented” “friendly” “active” “full of hope”. School anxiety was analyzed using following criteria: “anxiety for control works” “low self evaluation” “increased concern about school” “systemic symptoms of anxiety” “common school anxiety”. To verify connection between pupils self evaluation and school anxiety Person’s correlation was made. The results of analysis showed that common self evaluation and common anxiety don’t correlate (p = 0.240; R = -0.117). Students’, who evaluated themselves low, common school anxiety is bigger than those, who evaluated themselves high. While comparing school anxiety of boys and girls it was identified that that girls more often show anxiety for control works and systemic symptoms of anxiety more often are evidence for them. The results of school anxiety don’t show any significant differences between 3 and 4 year class pupils though it is bigger for 4 class pupils (x = 12.42 σ = 5.43). Comparing self evaluation among boys and girls criteria “strong” more often appeared for boys. They more often claim that they are strong (x = 1.80, σ = 0.94). Criteria “hard working” was evaluated with lowest points among boys and girls. Self-valuation of 4 class pupils is bigger than 3 class pupils, though it didn’t show any significant differences (t(204) = 0.045; p = 0.964). The results of the research showed that with age self evaluation decreases and anxiety increases.
