Abstract (en)
This paper is aimed to present small-scale qualitative investigation into how young people (11 - 18) are constructing their identities and becoming aware of their actual or potential European identity. The study was carried out under the framework of Jean Monnet programme, and was focused on the way young people construct their cultural identities. Even if during the study young people from many countries were approached, in this paper only findings in Lithuania are presented. Issues on how to integrate support to development of national and European identities in the curricula and processes of vocational and higher education in order to sustain demographic, cultural and and economic potential of Lithuania are discussed.
