Mokomojoje knygoje Gothic Fiction: The Beginnings trumpai apžvelgta XVIII a. estetinė teorinė mintis, vyravusi to meto Anglijoje, bei jos įtaka įžymiausios XVIII a. anglų gotikinės literatūros rašytojos Annos Radcliffe (1764–1823) kūrybai. Pirmojoje knygos dalyje pristatoma bei analizuojama XVIII a. estetinė mintis, turėjusi didelę įtaką ne tik XVIII a. britų gotikininei literatūrai atsirasti, bet ir veikusi kultūros reiškinius bei literatūros žanrus, vėliau kilusius iš klasikinės gotikinės literatūros (pvz., siaubo romaną, mokslinę fantastiką ir kt.). Remdamasi Edmundo Burke, Imanuelio Kanto, Williamo Gilpino bei Uvendale Price darbais, autorė aptaria gotikinės literatūros termino bei paties žanro kilmę, estetines didingumo bei grožio kategorijas. This teaching aid has grown out from the course Introduction into English Linguistics which I have been teaching at Vytautas Magnus University for a number of years. Its aim is to present students with a concise and up-to-date discussion of some of the main topics that mod-ern linguistics addresses. The teaching guide is provided with exercises for each topic (graded from less difficult to advanced), and questions for discussion. All the exercises have been tested in class. The teaching guide also includes a glossary of the most important terms which students have to know and be able to use not only in this course but also in the other linguistic courses that they take in the programme of English Philology.

Monography addresses the hydrogen plasma interaction with tungsten coatings problems relevant for fusion applications. The emphasis is made on the studies of tungsten, affected by redeposited carbon, erosion and mechanical properties.

Learning another language is becoming aware of another culture, and foreign language competence is a means not only to acquire knowledge about and skills of efficient cross-cultural communication but also a means of presenting our own culture to the world. The book presents the material (texts, communicative tasks, vocabulary development activities) for the development of intercultural skills on various cross-cultural topics: culture shock and learning to survive in a new culture, social etiquette, cross-cultural interaction, cultural similarities and differences, cultural stereotypes, ethnic jokes. The focus is on the presentation of national identity, values, cultural peculiarities in the English language.

The aim of this book is to satisfy the needs of those students majoring in English philology who must plan and carry out a research project on EFL methodology as part of their course or program requirements. This guidebook teaches the students to organize and write their research papers on EFL methodology and provides basic information on research types and methods. According to the study program, the students face the challenge of doing research in the field of EFL methodology – they write essay-type homework assignements, term papers and a Bachelor Thesis at the end of the program. The three types of papers are briefly described in this guidebook, all of them sharing similar structure, principles and steps. However, the papers are different in the scope of the research. The guidebook provides students with the basic information needed to understand the research process, from idea formulation through data analysis and interpretation, text organization and documenting the sources. Students will find the the necessary information on how to plan, organize and document their research and how to structure the research paper. The book will be useful for teachers of English, who consider conducting action research or publishing a research paper.

Knygoje esančios lietuvių pravardės užrašytos kaimo vietovėse ir miesteliuose 1976-1990 m. Pravardės rinktos iš viso lietuvių kalbos ploto. Jų abėcėlinis žodynas paskelbtas 1995 m. drauge su monografija (žr. Butkus A. Lietuvių pravardės. Kaunas: Aesti, 1995. - 464. ISBN 9986-9034-3-2). Atvirkštinis pravardžių žodynas skirtas struktūriniam jų tyrinėjimui. Žodyno kompiuterinis rinkinys buvo pergrupuotas pagal antraštinių pirmųjų žodžių baigmenis, atsisakius motyvacijos aprašų, palikus tik užrašymo vietų sutrumpinimus, sugrupuotus pagal abėcėlę. Iš viso atvirkštiniame žodyne pateikiamos 14 605 skirtingos pravardės.
