Today, language learning is encouraged primarily for occupational mobility. However, learning a new language can be strenuous, which often discourages learners. This article examines internationalisms and Europeanisms—lexical items shared across languages—which not only greatly facilitate everyday communication but also support language acquisition. The aim is to demonstrate the relevance of linguistic internationalism and Europeanism and how these can be effectively utilized in foreign language courses.
