Creative work of Hans Christian Andersen is part of not only Danish culture, but also that of all peoples. Many writers worldwide compose their national literature through the perspective of Andersen's creation. H.C.Andersen is also mentioned by Lithuanian poets as an outstanding author of children's readers, however, manifestations of his creative work are poor in modern children's poetry. Normally, indirect narrations of Andersen's fairy tales predominate in children's poems. The following types of poems composed after Andersen's fairy tales could be distinguished: named yet indirect motifs in the poems of Violeta Palčinskaitė and Sigitas geda; occasional images in Dalia Kudžmaitė's poetry. This book discusses in detail of the spread of Andersen's fairy tail motifs in the texts of the aforementioned poets.
