About 25.79-30.75 PJ of fuel and energy is utilized in rural areas (for agricultural work and household). This amounts to 13.8-16.5 % of the total energy use in the country. At the moment about 8.67 PJ of renewable energy is used in rural areas. This is mainly the wood and small hydro-energy. It covers one third of the total energy expenditure in the countryside. However, taking into consideration the perspectives of renewable energy usage and the role of agriculture, in the process, there is a lack of evaluation of complex usage possibilities for this kind of energy. The aim of the work is to determine the technical potential of the output and usage of renewable energy in Lithuanian rural area.
