Abstract (en)
The formation process of snowdrifts in drainage channels with different vegetation was modeled in a hydraulic flume. The modeling was based on the peculiarities of the similarity theory of movement of liquids and sediment. It was determined that observed strips of trees and bushes growing on channel slopes usually have no significant effect on the accumulation of snow in channels. However, proper arrangement of those strips of trees would contribute significantly to the reduction of snow accumulation.
