The experimental ressearch results of the shuttle gantry chassis with hydrostatic drive are obtained during soil processing. Were investigated the influence of a rough ground, the gantry speed and the control system settings on the accuracy of guidance and power consumption of the gantry chasis. The gantry chassis worked in automatic mode. Proportional control of the hydrostatic drive allowed changing positioning speed from 0.11 to 0.39 m/s. The three optical sensors and the laser were used for posture sensing. The experimental researches have shown that in that case, when distance between the optical sensors is 60 mm, the maximum declination of guidance is 33 mm from mean trajectory. Such accuracy is acceptable for agro technical requirements. The researches have chown that characteristics of the chassis have more influences for accuracy of guidance than a rough ground.
