Abstract
Country image communication is difend as rational practice to improve country's image by a range of techniques of public relations and marketing, usually influenced by the country's government. Looking from the historical perspective, Lithuania was one of the forerunners in this field, as it started its public relation already in 1910's, when Lithuanian diaspora in USA implemented huge PR campaing in the American society with aim to introduce the nation and to achieve positive opinion, that helped to declare the independence in 1918. According to E. Bernays, who participated actively in this campaing implementing his new segmentation strategies, Lithuanians were one of the communities, early starting to use public opinion to achieve specific aims (Ulinskaitė, 2005).
