Oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.) is grown all over the world. This crop is the main stock of oil in Lithuania, so its plots are expanding every year. There are 33 cultivars of spring oilseed rape registered in Lithuania. Genetic variability of spring oilseed rape in Lithuania was analyzed by RAPD molecular markers. Five different cultivars of spring oilseed rape (‘Masko’t, ’Sw Savan’, ‘Heros’, ‘Ural’, ‘Landmark’) were collected for research. Four RAPD primers: OPA- 01, OPA-04, OPA-09, OPA-11 were screened for their ability to produce polymorphic patterns. Tested primers generated different polymorphic fragments ranging from 1 to 9 per reaction, overall 46 polymorphic amplification products in the range of 220-1800 bp. Dendrograms based on UPGMA cluster analysis confirmed the suitability of all the primers for the further analysis and showed a significant genetic variation among individuals of different cultivars.
