By economical reasons, higher education is increasingly forced to focus on the labour market needs. Nowadays studies are seen as a pragmatic perspective: how it is useful in practice, for development of human capital and for private sector. The cooperation between education and business is very important. Businesses are encouraged to finance specific programs of studies, researches, because the society‘s needs‘ is changing, so universities also should create new studies‘ programs, modified curriculum approaches which should focus on the curriculum adaptability and professionalization. The desiners of high schools‘ programs in advance are planning employment opportunities for graduates. High schools‘ is working towards, the preparation of graduates are focused on basic skills training, for mental and practical flexibility. But there is still heard criticism from business leaders that Lithuania‘s high school graduates still not match labor market‘s needs. In the work analysed Lithuania‘s labor market and professions‘ market tendencies; also analyzed Lithuania‘s university‘s social science graduates qualifications match for the labor market needs, labour supply‘s and demand‘s situation in Lithuanian labor market. The work focused on the analysis of investment and innovation in human capital, salaries, also information about Lithuanian economy's sectors and structure. The work presents the Lithuania‘s higher education work strategy, the concept of Lithuania‘s higher education and education policy. The empirical part of this qualitative research is performed through two semi-structured interviews in order to show the research problem from graduate‘s and employer‘s look. Moreover semi-structured interviews firstly involved Lithuania‘s X-university‘s social science graduates match for the labour market needs; secondly employers and how they considered investing in Lithuania‘s X-university‘s social science graduates match to the labor market needs and improve their skills and qualification. Empirical research led to conclude that Lithuania’s university train more general skills, but specialized things for studing programs are forgetting. Lithuania’s university of social science not prepared graduates for the labour market, graduates don’t have enough professional training, practical skills training. Due to the changing needs of the society for high school study programs is difficult to match the labor market needs, it should be reviewed annually and reorganized, abolished, or developed of new degree programs, modified methods where greater attention should be paid to professional practice not for general skills training or psychological and personal development building. Moreover Lithuania’s university’s social science graduates are standed out by their innovativeness, activity, big ambitions, new ideas and knowledge, wanting to learn, but there are too naive, confident, have no practical touch to the real labor market. Frequently graduates tend to have a baggage of sufficient knowledge, but there are also those who have no practical, no theoretical skills, so when they do not trust their qualifications, and that they normally start work needed a lot time and financial invests. The empirical research has shown that the majority of companies / organizations more or less invested in employees-graduates training, and professional development. On the other hand, the investments of private companies to the Lithuania‘s university‘s social science graduates are not so big because of their mobility. The employers invest more for loyal employees, but this is not the only indicator, the investments depend on the type and size of organization.
