Abstract
The main purpose of this research is to analyze the peculiarities of Health Control Locus and Sense of Coherence of adults that suffer from chronic diseases. The research is based on the analysis of scientific literature and theories, which summarize the main definitions of this research: the age of an adult, ailment and health control locus, Sense of Coherence. The results of experiments made with healthy adults and those who suffer from chronic diseases (N=378) are presented and analyzed in the second part of this research. Two methods where used: K.Wollston (1978) Multidimensional scale health locus of control (MHLC) and A.Antonovsky (1987) “Questionnaire of Life Orientation”, which is used in order to determine the Sense of Coherence. The results of research are: there are differences between adults that suffer from chronic diseases and healthy adults by the rate “chance” of the Health Locus of Control (t(376)=2.731, p=0.007) and by external rate of the Health Locus of Control (t(376)=11.375, p=0.0001). The obtained results allow making a conclusion that the firs hypotheses that adults that suffer from chronic diseases external rate is more expressed than healthy adults. Differences between adults that suffer from chronic diseases and healthy adults was found by the rates “manageability” (t(376)=-5.080, p=0.0001), “meaningfulness” (t(376)=-6.464, p=0.0001) of Sense of Coherence and by the general Scale of the Sense of Coherence (t(376)=-4.114, p=0.0001). The obtained results allow making a conclusion that the second hypotheses that the Healthy adults Sense of Coherence scale is upper than of adults suffer from chronic diseases. The obtain results allow making a conclusion, that there are connection between the Health locus of Control of adults scales and between parameters of Sense of Coherence. Interior Health Locus of Control index very weakly but statistically meaningly connected with Senses of Coherences indexes “comprehensibility” (r=0.118, p=0.021), “manageability” (r=0.106, p=0,040) and “signification” (r=0.109, p=0.033). Healths Locus of Control index “chance” have statistically significant negative low connection with Sense of Coherence parameters “comprehensibility” (r=-0.327, p=0.0001), “manageability” (r=-0.289, p=0.0001), “meaningfulness” (r=-0.296, p=0.0001). External Health locus of Control index has statistically significant negative low connection with Sense of Coherences components “manageability” (r=-0.197, p=0.0001) and “meaningfulness” (r=-0.295, p=0.0001). General scale of Sense of Coherence statistically significant very slightly connect with internal Health locus of Control index (r=0.126, p=0.014) and has negative statistically significant weak connection with Health Locus of Control index “chance” (r=-346, p=0.0001) and with external Health Locus of Control index (r=-0.197, p=0.0001). These relationships are weak and particular proves third hypotheses. A third hypothesis tells us that relationship between adults Health Locus of Control Scales and Sense of Coherence in probable.
