Master thesis general objective is to analyse the challenges of team learning in dancesport. The object of the thesis is team learning in dancesport. Therefore, the analysis carried out on team learning is based both on theoretical and empirical perspective. The study was conducted by reviewing the theoretical approaches, interviewing respondents and performing quantitative analysis, based on respondents’ answers. The first part of the thesis, dedicated to the theoretical approach, is divided into two chapters. The first chapter presents the concept and technical basis of dancesport. This is very important while seeking to understand the general and physical difficulties the dancers might be facing as a part of a team. The second chapter reviews the teamwork concept and how it is being applied in job with athletes. Here a lot of attention is paid for the coach and its’ role in the team, considering that this person has most impact in teambuilding processes. Also, the most important criteria of teamwork are outlined. The second part of the thesis is an empirical research. As a case study was chosen Lithuanian dancesport club “Žuvėdra”. The data was collected interviewing the club coach, present club members and former club members. The data has been processed, presented and systemized. This helped to highlight the problems which have been persisting in the club and the way they were dealt with. By comparing the respondents answers the changes in dancesport club “Žuvėdra” are being revealed. The thesis is finished by representing recommendations and conclusions. It has been noticed that a lot of teamwork problems, named by various scientists, have been present in dancesport club “Žuvėdra”. These problems either have not been solved, either team members refused alternative solutions. It has also been noticed that after the club split up and was again recreated, majority of the problems have gone away. This is connected with different (lower) team goals. Finally, the recommendations of how to solve teamwork problems are given, while employing case study and theoretical material.
