Hand-arm and the whole body vibrations the main risk factors for the employees, often causing musculoskeletal occupational diseases. This graduation thesis analyses the effect of working parts wear of the hand-held tools on the vibration acceleration values. The investigations were carried out with angle grinders, chain saws and lawn mowers. It was found that all tested hand-held machines, in all cases exceeded the daily exposure action value standing at 2.5 m/s2, and in 65 percent of the cases exceeded the limit value of 5 m/s2. It was also found that the result of vibration can differ by 35 percent when hand-held tool is equipped with new or worn working parts (e.g. cutting disc). These results may be useful for the occupational risk assessment in the workplace and reducing the exposure of workers to vibration.
