Abstract (en)
The paper presents the first data of the investigations obtained in the field experiment on recycling of wood ash in Lithuanian forests that was established within the EU project “Wood-En-Man”. The application of not hardened wood ash (1.25-5.00 t ha-1) has influenced the chemical and biological condition of forest litters of Arenosols even only 5 months after the application. Wood ash recycling decreases the acidity of forest litters followed by the immobilization of heavy metals, and the increase of the abundance of the micro-organisms.
