Abstract: The paper presents the first data of the investigations obtained in the field experiment on recycling of wood ash in Lithuanian forests that was established within the EU project “Wood-En-Man”. The application of not hardened wood ash (1.25-5.00 t ha-1) has influenced the chemical and biological condition of forest litters of Arenosols even only 5 months after the application. Wood ash recycling decreases the acidity of forest litters followed by the immobilization of heavy metals, and the increase of the abundance of the micro-organisms
