Straipsnyje analizuojamas chemijos ir buities kultūros specialybių turinys bei integracijos galimybės, siekiama atskleisti mokinių, studentų, dėstytojų požiūrį į šių specialybių turini bei jų suderinamumą. Technologijų ir chemijos bendrojo lavinimo programų bei studentų, dėstytojų ir XII klasės mokinių nuomonės apie chemijos žinių pritaikymą analizė rodo, kad chemijos ir technologijų dalykai yra integralūs. Taigi yra tikslinga parengti chemijos ir buities kultūros specialybės bakalauro studijų programą, tokiu būdu iš dalies laiduojant mokytojų užimtumą bei technologijų dalyko mokytojų kompetencijos plėtrą. Mūsų duomenimis, XII klasės mokiniai turi daugiau chemijos žinių nei I kurso buities kultūros specialybės studentai. Todėl priimant studentus į šią specialybę būtina atsižvelgti į chemijos pažymį atestate. Buities kultūros specialybės studentai nurodo, kad, norėdami gerai perimti žinias, susijusias su mityba, būsto, aplinkos bei rūbų priežiūra, jiems trūksta chemijos dalyko žinių. Chemijos specialybės studentai turi daugiau pagrindinių chemijos žinių, tačiau jie nežino, kaip šias žinias pritaikyti praktiškai. Tai dar kartą įrodo šių dviejų specialybių suderinamumo būtinybę.
The integrated programmes is one of the most problematical issues in the education reform for the experts, who prepare the teaching programmes and for the teachers, who are liable to apply the integration principle in the school practice (4, p.1). The programme of Technologies in the secondary school integrates a lot of knowledge of different sciences - Biology, Chemistry, Math, Physics, Psychology, Economics et cetera. It teaches the application of this knowledge in everyday life. The specialty of Culture of Life at Vilnius Pedagogical University, which prepares teachers of Technologies’, has engineering (utilitarian) character. The studies of this speciality contain Nutrition and Hygiene, Food Preparation Technology, Sewing Technology, Techniques of Arts, Art Education. Chemistry knowledge is needed while studying most of them, because it would be difficult to explain a lot of reasons of the processes. Double speciality of Chemistry and Culture of Life would partly solve the problem, that is topical nowadays - teachers’ employment, as well.
The questionnaire was given for 108 twelfth-formers from 4 schools. The goal of the research was to find out the potential contingent of the scholars and to examine how they are prepared to study the double speciality of Chemistry and Culture of life. These results were compared with the results of the analogous questionnaire research of the 1st and 2ndyear students of two separate specialties - Chemistry and Culture of Life. The analysis of Chemistry and Culture of life programmes was carried out as well, to indicate the possibilities of integration.
The evaluation of the students’, scholars’ and teachers’ attitude towards the application of the chemistry knowledge in practice and the analysis of the Technologies and Chemistry general education programmes has shown the integrity of these subjects. Therefore it is reasonable to prepare the bachelor’s degree programme of Chemistry and Culture of life. Our data shows that the twelfth-formers have more Chemistry knowledge than the 1st year students of Culture of Life. Hence it is necessary to compute the mark of Chemistry subject while receiving students to the first year studies of the speciality Culture of Life. Meanwhile the students of this speciality indicate, that the knowledge of Chemistry is very important assimilating such subjects as Nutrition. Food Preparation Technology, Clothing and it’s care, and Cleaning and they feel the lack of Chemistry knowledge. The students of Chemistry have more basic chemistry knowledge, but they are lacking skills how to apply them. That confirms again the affinity of Chemistry and Culture of Life and the necessity of such joined speciality.
