Straipsnyje nagrinėjama skaitymo mokymo esmė ir jo svarbiausios sudedamosios dalys. Skaitymas darbe yra lyginamas su kitomis kalbinės veiklos rūšimis, atskleidžiami jo privalumai ieškant naudingos informacijos. Skaitymo analizės metu pabrėžiama vidinė kalbos svarba, taip pat reproduktyviųjų pastangų reikšmė brandžiam skaitymui. Straipsnyje taip pat nagrinėjamos skaitymo mokėjimų ir įgūdžių prielaidos bei būdai, kaip to pasiekti.
The article deals with the nature of teaching reading skills and the most important components of reading. Reading in work activity is compared to the other types of spoken language activities and the advantages of reading are revealed in search for useful information. The importance of inner language while analysing reading and of reproductive efforts for advanced reading are underlined. Assumptions of reading ability and skills and methods to achieve them are also approached in the Article.
