The influence of global english on modern Latvian as evidenced by the study of Latvian as a foreign language

Abstract

One aspect of language involves the expression of cultural reality. Cultural challenges make claim on linguistic expression, as language registers transitory phenomena and demonstrates acknowledged cultural values. The spread and popularity of certain linguistic forms among different social groups of language-users and different language registers convincingly show transitions in the ways, views and habits of a community.
