While working in the museum of Kaunas he actively manifested himself as a scientist-archeologist (he investigated the prehistorical monuments, described them, accumulated and took care of the funds of Kaunas museum), a painter (he participated in IV, V, VIII exhibitions of Lithuanian artists, manifested himself as a decorator and a stained glass artist), a worker of culture (he directed, staged and wrote various works for the stage, published a publication about the herbs of Lithuanian towns), a public worker (participated in the Seym of Vilnius in 1905 and in the work of the 19th conference in Vilnius, he also helped to establish the colours of Lithuanian flag), he took care of Lithuanian culture monuments (he was the first chairman of the state archeological committee founded in 1919). Tadas Daugirdas was are of the few Polonised larolowners-intellectuals who realized the importance of Lithuanian Independence and worked for its sake.
