Straipsnyje parodoma, jog gabiųjų ugdymo klausimai dar menkai tyrinėti Lietuvos pedagogikoje. Remiantis didele kitų šalių patirtimi identifikuojant ir ugdant gabiuosius, parodoma, kaip galėtų būti sprendžiama ši problema mūsų šalyje, akcentuojama, kad Lietuvoje taip pat bandoma daugiau kreipti dėmesio į aptariamą klausimą, tačiau iki šiol šia linkme dar mažai nuveikta.
This article analyses the problem of gifted children, based on literature review about gifted children’s education in different countries. The analysis helped to disclose the worlds’ experience in this field and proved the necessity of gifted children’s education. It showed the main conditions of its successful implementation, too. They are: creation of legislation, promoting education of the young gifted children, preparation of teacher to work with such children in the universities and during in-service training, promoting research on education of the gifted children, adoption of ability identification tests, promotion of publishing of works on methodology, assistance for the gifted children education, the development of forms of activity, involving the whole society in the process of solution of these problems
