Žmogiškojo asmens kilnumo klausimas yra aktualus. Iki šiol į jį gilintasi, bet ne daug. Visuomet lieka uždavinys klasikinės filosofijos temas permąstyti šių dienų šviesoje. Tad ir žmogiškojo asmens bei baigtinės egzistencijos klausimas yra keliamas remiantis esminėmis Tomo Akviniečio įžvalgomis bei šiuolaikinių filosofų mintimis. Svarbu akcentuoti, kad tiek klasikinė filosofija (metafiziniu aspektu grindžianti asmens kilnumą ir baigtinės egzistencijos vertę), tiek fenomenologinė, personalistinė ar dialogo filosofija iš esmės gilinasi į problemą, kuri yra pats subjektas. Žmogiškąjį klausimą išsamiai tyrinėjo S. Kierkegaard, M. Buber, M. Heidegger, E. Stein, E. Levinas, ir kiti -kiekvienas iš jų savitu būdu. Asmens problemą analizuoja P. Ricoeur. B. Mondin, R. Lucas Lucas filosofinės antropologijos bei metafizikos kontekste mąsto apie esminius asmens aspektus. Neužmirštinas K. Wojtyl’os darbas Asmuo ir veiksmas, kuriame vyksta veiksmo, kuris atskleidžia asmenį, tyrimas arba asmens tyrimas per veiksmą, būdingas fenomenologinei pozicijai.
The question about the dignity of a human person is really urgent. Till today there are some inquiries, but not enough. There is always a challenge to reflect on the themes of a classical philosophy, in the contemporary context. The question about a human person and about a finite existence is analysed refering to the main insights of Thomas Aquinas, and to the thoughts of contemporary philosophers. It is important that both classical philosophy (that bases the dignity of a person and the value of a finite existence on the metaphysical aspect), and phenomenological, personalistic and dialogai philosophy inquire in essence the problem, that is the very subject or a human person. The human question was comprehensively studied by S. Kierkegaard, M. Buber, M. Heidegger, E. Stein, E. Levinas and the others - each of them in their own way. The problem of a person is analysed by P. Ricoeur. B. Mondin, R. Lucas Lucas reflect on the main aspects of a human person in the context of the philosophical anthropology and the metaphysics. Very significant is the philosophical work of K. Wojtyla A Person and an Action. In it the author researches the action that reveals a person, in other words in this work comes out the research on a person through his/ her action; this method is characteristic to a phenomenological approach.
