Straipsnyje pristatomi nežymiai sutrikusio intelekto asmenų, baigusių profesinio rengimo įstaigas, profesinės adaptacijos ypatumai. Sėkmingiausiai įsidarbino tie tiriamieji, kurie turėjo jiems padedančių žmonių: artimųjų, pedagogų, socialinių tarnybų specialistų. Sunkumų pirmaisiais darbo metais aspektu nustatyta, kad jaunuoliai buvo nepakankamai pasiruošę darbinei veiklai tiek profesinių įgūdžių, tiek bendrųjų gebėjimų požiūriu. Tyrimo metu profesinės karjeros aspektu išryškėjo tiek sėkminga profesinė adaptacija, tiek įvairūs sunkumai, kurie straipsnyje išsamiai analizuojami.
In the article “The Peculiarities of Psychosocial and Vo cational Adaptation of Mild Mentally Retarded Postgraduates ofVocational Training Institutions” the data of the research have been analyzed. 405 persons have been interviewed. The respondents who had someone to help them (relatives, pedagogues, social service professionals) were the most successfill in finding the job. From the aspect of the difficulties in the first year of the employment it has been estimated that the young people had not been prepared enough for vocational activity both from the viewpoint of vocational skills and general skills. From the aspect of vocational career during the research both successful vocational adaptation and various difficulties have manifested themselves and they have been thoroughly analyzed. The analysis of the research results have highlighted the unemployment prevention strategy of mild mentally retarded persons: obtaining the profession that meets the needs of labour market and a person, state support for the employer who has employed a disabled person and for a disabled person himself/herself appointing him I her an employment agent (it might also be an exceptional support from a professional of the labour exchange office). These ways are realistic evaluating limited resources of the state and the possibilities of social support, too. Social support should turn to social assistance, in case of the present research, to the assistance anchoring in the labour market. Key words: mild mentally retirement, vocational adaptation, social support, integration, vocational career.
