JAV lietuvių vargonininkai įnešė didelį indėlį, puoselėdami svetimame krašte tautines vertybes ir prisidėdami prie liturginės muzikos tradicijų saugojimo bei jų atnaujinimo. Šiame straipsnyje siekiama atskleisti vargonininkų pastangas diegti lietuvišką giedojimą pamaldų metu, apžvelgti jų darbus leidžiant lietuviškus giesmynus, įvertinti nuopelnus derinant Bažnyčios hierarchų reikalavimus ir lietuvių katalikiškos visuomenės poreikius.
The Lithuanian church organists in the USA had preserved the national spirit and traditions of liturgical music for a long time. They also furthered the development of these traditions. The aim of this article is to review the efforts of church organists to popularize Lithuanian hymns and chanting during church service, as well as to analyze the history of publishing of Lithuanian hymnals. The author of this article points the importance of church organists work in coordination of Church requisitions and the needs of Lithuanian Catholic community.
