Paauglystėje mažėja susidomėjimas kūrybine veikla, mokiniai pradeda kritiškai vertinti savo kūrybą. Kūrybingumą lemia labai daug vidinių ir išorinių veiksnių, sudarančių paauglių motyvacijos sferą. V- VII klasių mokiniai, kurių tėvai teigiamai vertina dailės dalyką, pozityviau vertina savo kūrybines galias, kūrybos rezultatus, dailės pamokas, labiau pasitiki savo jėgomis, aktyviau dalyvauja meninėje veikloje, negu tie mokiniai, kurių tėvai vizualinei kūrybai yra abejingi. Remiantis apklausų duomenimis, nagrinėjama tėvų teigiamo požiūrio j dailę ir jos naudingumo įtaka V-VII klasių mokinių dailės mokymosi motyvacijai.
The key objective of basic artistic development is to expand pupils’ creative, psychic and physical capacities, to give artistic and aesthetic competence as well as the basics of moral, socio-cultural and public maturity, to develop sensitive, reasoning, creative and penetrating person conscious of art and its’ active user. Nevertheless it is noticeable that pupils of V-VII grades stop paint-ing, lose will in taking part in creative activities, become too self critical; a negative direction is being taken in the motivation of learning arts - the factor determining learning results. The learning motivation could be related not only with the peculiarities of social environment, including everything that the pupil thinks of the rea-sons of her / his successful/un successful learning results, with how the parents, teachers and friends valuate her / his learning and how they tolerate her / his independence and individuality. The learning motivation, attitudes towards learning and emotional relations with the learning start developing in the family. If the parents appreciate the role of the school, this evaluation influences children’s attitude towards learning. Their further attitude not only towards the art subject but towards art and culture in general, depends exactly on how we manage to encourage pupils of this age period and to bring them back self-confidence. Therefore, it is relevant to find out what influence the parents’ positive attitude towards art subject and children’s creative activity does to the children of this age. The aim of the project is to identify the parents’ attitude towards art subject teach-ing and learning and its’ influence upon the V-VII grades pupils’ art learning motivation. 689 pupils of V-VII grades from secondary schools of Lithuania and 689 their parents were interviewed. According to the research data, V-VII grades pupils’ and their parents’ attitudes towards the importance of art subject teaching and learning to overall development insignificantly differ. Nevertheless the parents have a more positive attitude towards the benefits of art subject. The pupils of the V-VII grades still care about their parents’ positive attitude towards the benefits of the art subject and this influence their motivation of art learning. Parents’ positive valuation of results of their children’s visual expression not only positively affects the motivation of art learning but encourages positive assessment of ones creative results, engagement and active participation in artistic activity
