The article analyses the impact of an artistic group on the development of sociocultural expression during studies. Qualitative research of value and general ability acquisition was carried out in order to estimate the rapidity of this process. While observing a reference group of an artistic collective, individual evaluative changes were noticed related to the benefit each individual gets separately from the artistic group with regard to forms of activities practiced by the group and each individual’s activities in the group. Using the questionnaire-based survey and composition methods, it was proved that activities performed in an artistic group promote acquisition of sociocultural experience as well as growth of spirituality and general abilities. It was noticed that the indicators characterizing artistic maturity increase more rapidly in an artistic group rather than beyond its limits. The most efficient impact of an artistic group on a future teacher is achieved when he / she joins the group from the first year of studies, as this stage is characterized by the greatest rapidity of estimated sociocultural expression indicator growth. Sociocultural expression related experience acquired in an artistic group also has favorable impact in an in-service teacher’s activities, where it is manifested by better indicators of professional success.
