Straipsnyje pateikiama metaforinio mąstymo samprata. Patarlės pristatomos kaip metaforinio mąstymo diagnostikos ir lavinimo instrumentas. Nagrinėjami patarlių kokybinės analizės rezultatai, gauti analizuojant mokinių patarlių interpretacijas, pagal kurias yra nustatomas ui metaforinio mąstymo išsivystymo lygis
The article deals with the following problematic educational issues: i) what are the abilities of the primary school pupils to perceive the contents of proverbs, ii) how can proverbs be used for the identification and development of the level of metaphorical thinking, simultaneously speeding up a child’s cognitive activities. The research results enable us to state that proverbs can be a successful tool for the diagnosis and development of the metaphorical thinking of primary school pupils, applying the tasks, work methods, and ways corresponding to the concrete stage of cognitive development.
