Musa tyrelis marshy complex was rather late recognized as valuable and protected area. In Soviet times, Musa tyrelis sump had been foreseen for peat extraction. However, later the need to preserve and restore at least part of a unique wetland complex was realized. Herbaceous plant research in Tyrelis swamp complex was carried out in 2017 Joniskio district municipality territory. In Soviet times marsh was exploited for economic purposes, thereby disrupting the wetland complex surface layer that was determined by coating a projection of herbaceous plants and grass plant species composition. The survey found 17 different species of grass growing in the studied areas. The fragment of protected vegetation, as well as protected species were defined as well. Summarizing, the findings suggest that our tyrelis Telmological Reserve is being restored, wetlands typical of herbaceous plants are increasing, resulting in protected species, critical habitats EC. Human activities in the natural complex have to be very responsible and mature to induce the facilitation of herbaceous plant species abundance recovery in the future.
