Human and More-Than-Human Futures: Innovating Technologies for Coexistence

Abstract

Artificial intelligence, climate change, strengthening Lithuania's defense, digitization, and creating livable cities are just a few of the most pressing issues today, both in Lithuania and around the world. These topics were discussed by experts from Lithuania and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) at a conference held in Vilnius and Kaunas. The event was organized by a consortium of twelve leading Lithuanian universities, research centers, and companies, coordinated by Vytautas Magnus University (VDU), after signing a cooperation agreement with the MIT International Studies Center and the MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI) program. The conference was attended by scientists from Lithuania and MIT, as well as representatives of Lithuanian business and industry, who gave presentations and discussed the challenges of technological transformation.
