The monograph presents the results of the research on development of key competences of adults executed in implementation of the research project funded by the Research Council of Lithuania „Platform of adult key competence development“. The goal of research is to provide holistic evaluation of the key competence development of adults in Lithuania. There were analysed the following core key competences: communication in the native and foreign languages, development of cultural awareness, entrepreneurship, application of information society technologies, learning to learn. Research disclosed increasing impact of key competences for the employment, sustaining of workplaces, career, civic life and personal development of adults in Lithuania, as well as increasing awareness of the importance of development of these competences.

Handbook for learning „What and how to learn in seeking to get employed, to work successfully and to live meaningfully” is designed for the adult learning and development of key competences. This handbook provides 4 modules for development of key competences: module for development of communication competence in native and foreign languages, module for development of competences for using information society technologies, module for development of competences related to learning to learn, personal and citizenship development, as well as the module for development of entrepreneurship competence. The handbook can be used by the individual learners and the adult educators. It is prepared in the framework of the research project “The platform of research and development of adult key competence development” funded by the Research Council of Lithuania.
