Vilniaus miesto komisaras Kazimiežas Vimboras (Kazimierz Wimbor) išsiuntė 1924 m. pirmojoje pusėje Lenkijos vyriausybės įgaliotiniui Vilniaus mieste slaptą ataskaitą. Dokumento parengimą inicijavo Lenkijos vidaus reikalų ministerija, nurodžiusi vietinei valdžiai surinkti informaciją apie organizacinį gyvenimą atskiruose šalies regionuose. Ataskaitoje buvo aptariama įvairių miesto bendruomenių draugijų veikla, jų vadovybė, nevengta organizacijų politinio vertinimo ir rekomendacijų dėl tolesnės veiklos. Organizaciniu aktyvumu iš kitų bendruomenių išsiskyrė Vilniaus žydai, kurie įkūrė ir išlaikė kelias dešimtis įvairaus pobūdžio draugijų. Publikuojamas dokumentas aktualus ir vertingas vykdant Vilniaus m. XX a. istorijos tyrimus. Lietuvių istoriografijoje jis beveik nežinomas, publikuotas nebuvo.

In the age of globalization scientific research on national identities has not lost its relevance. The ongoing research project presented in this special issue aims at comparing the transformation of Lithuanian and Belorussian national identities in the context of Euro-integration. Although for the major part Lithuania and Belarus share the same history, because of interwar statehood Lithuanian identity has had more favourable conditions for development than Belorussian identity. After the two countries gained their independence in the 1990s they arguably chose quite different paths of identity building: whereas the basis of Belorussian identity has primarily been their historical teritory, a certain social strata and belief system, the major markers of Lithuanian identity are Lithuanian languange, ethnicity and Catholicism. Socialization within the EU structures has also had a significant impact on the Lithuanian identity in terms of adopting the European values and norms whereas independent Belarus mostly seeks integration with the post-Soviet space.
