Il lógos dell’esistenza ovvero della relazione che è libertà
[Signs of existential (or relational) Logos freedom]

The article analyzes the concepts of truth and freedom in the philosophy of Luigi Pareyson. Special attention is paid to Pareyson’s first work Existence and the Human. The philosopher claims that human freedom has its ontological foundation in God. The human is called in his/her existence to find not Nothing, but rather the Logos, not chaos, but harmony. Human existence is meaningful when one authentically seeks a relationship with oneself and others through the perspective of faith. Such a relationship is possible only through acknowledging God’s existence. Pareyson claims that philosophy interprets reality (creation) as God’s gift. Truth and freedom have their ontological foundations in God’s human appearance through Jesus Christ, God’s eternal Logos. Therefore in philosophy the mind that is separated from faith is not competent to answer existential questions about good and evil, truth and freedom: absolute detachment from transcendence devaluates and impoverishes human existence.
