Tota Pulchra – immaculate conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary as a work of the divine mercy on the basis of the writings of Blessed George Matulaitis-MatulewiczItem type:Publication, [„Visa graži“ – Švč. Mergelės Marijos nekaltas prasidėjimas kaip dievo gailestingumo išraiška pal. Jurgio Matulaičio raštuose]research article[2008]Matulewicz, ElżbietaSOTER: religijos mokslo žurnalas / SOTER: Journal of Religious Science, 2008, no. 27(55), p. 53-62In the cycle of five theological articles published in 1903–1904 in polish diocesan magazine in Kielce (Poland) Blessed George Matulaitis-Matulewicz explained the substance of the Immaculate Conception of Blessed Virgin Mary dogma which was declared in 1854 by Pius IX. On the basis of these five articles the first dimension of the relation between the Immaculate Conception of Blessed Virgin Mary and the mystery of Divine Mercy is considered. Blessed George emphasizes that privilege of the Immaculate Conception was an exceptional grace of the Divine mercy for Mary herself. Being First Participant of Redemption She was not like any other human washed and purified of original sin, but protected and endowed with sanctifying grace from the very conception. The second dimension of the Immaculate Conception in the relation to the Divine Mercy are graces that God overflows on the Church by mediation of Mary Immaculate. She is a main Patroness of the Marian Fathers Congregation that was renewed and directed by Blessed George Matulaitis-Matulewicz and the Patroness of the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary founded by Blessed George in 1918 in Lithuania.

In the dimensijon of granting with Divine Mercy graces and Mary’s own experience of mercy, the first place takes her preceding, anticipatory redemption in the very moment of her conception. Grace of the Immaculate Conception became the beginning of next Mary’s privileges and mysteries like her virginal maternity, maternity of the Church, Assumption and the glory of the Queen of Heaven and earth.
