Vaikų globos namų tema yra itin aktuali Lietuvoje. Vaikams, ypač netekusiems tėvų globos, labiausiai reikia išskirtinės apsaugos, jų teisės turi būti ginamos ypač kruopščiai ir atidžiai. Kasmet kuriamos programos, strategijos, priimami įstatymai bei jų pakeitimai, numatantys vaiko globos politikos tobulėjimą bei plėtrą. Didžioji dalis patvirtintų programų bei strategijų numatė vaikų, augančių stacionariose institucijose, skaičiaus mažinimą ir vaiko globos šeimoje bei šeimynose skatinimą. Numatyta, kad iki 2020 m. globos įstaigose vaikų neliks, jie gyvens šeimose, šeimynose, bendruomenėse. Kokia jų patirtis? Ar gyvendami ben druomeniniuose globos namuose jaunuoliai mokosi gyventi mažoje bendruomenėje, pritapti visuomenėje, rūpintis buitimi, planuoti savo išlaidas, prisiimti asmeninę atsakomybę ir savaran kiškai priimti sprendimus? Ar taip jaunuoliai jaučiasi labiau pasiruošę savarankiškam gyveni mui ir išmoksta pagrindinių įgūdžių ir vertybių, reikalingų suaugusiojo gyvenime. Remiantis pasirinktų šaltinių analizės ir tyrimo rezultatais, straipsnyje siekiama objektyviai apibūdinti tiriamą reiškinį bei atskleisti paauglių, išėjusių iš vaikų globos namų į bendruomeninius globos namus, socialinės adaptacijos ypatumus.

In this study the peculiarities of school mediation is presented, the possible performance benchmarks of a social pedagogue while applies the mediation in his work are discussed. Goal of this study – to research the application of mediation in a social pedagogue’s work. It was achieve by means of comparative analysis of documents and scientific literature. Analysis of scientific literature allowed hypothesize that conflicts in school may be effectively managed when the social pedagogue applies the mediation in his work. However, the fact is that in Lithuania the social pedagogues don’t put in to practice the school mediation. During analysis of documents and scientific literature were identified these potential roles of social pedagogue’s who applies the mediation in his work: the coordinator of peer mediation program, who directs the participants of the conflict to mediation; the mediator who decides the schoolchildren(s) and teacher(s) conflicts or peer violence; the mediator between the child and family, the child and the child’s state institutions.
