Progresuojančios raumenų relaksacijos ir relaksacijos su klasikine muzika galimybės mažinti psichofiziologinę itampąItem type:Publication, [Possibilities of progressive muscle relaxation and relaxation with classical music in reducing psycho-physiological stress]research article[2011][S4][S006][15]; ; Bukauskaitė, IndrėInternational Journal of Psychology: A Biopsychosocial Approach / Tarptautinis psichologijos žurnalas: biopsichosocialinis požiūris, 2011, vol. 8, p. 83-97Research *ndings indicate that psychological tension may lead to various somatic and mental health problems or hamper psychological well-being of an individual. Therefore relaxation methods may serve as a tool for reducing psychophysiological tension and increasing biopsychosocial functioning. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the potential of progressive muscle relaxation and relaxation with classical music in reducing female student psycho-physiological tension (anxiety, anger, blood pressure). Material and methods. The level of anxiety was assessed by the Spielberger State Anxiety Inventory. The level of anger was assessed by Anger State subscale from The State-Trait Anger Expression Scale. 70+female students aged 18 through 31 took part in the study. Results and conclusions. The study revealed that a single progressive muscle relaxation session reduces levels of anxiety and anger, while relaxation with classical music reduces anxiety, anger, and systolic blood pressure levels. Relaxation with classical music sessions had a long-term anger and diastolic blood pressure reduction ePect, and no such ePect was observed in case of progressive muscle relaxation sessions.
185 494 Effectiveness of progressive muscle relaxation and biofeedback – assisted relaxation in reducing perceived stress among students with regard to personality featuresItem type:Publication, [Progresuojančiosios raumenų bei biogrįžtamuoju ryšiu paremtos relaksacijos efektyvumas mažinant subjektyviai suvoktą stresą studentų grupėje atsižvelgiant į asmenybės savybes]research article[2015][S4][S006][25]; ; ; International Journal of Psychology: A Biopsychosocial Approach / Tarptautinis psichologijos žurnalas: biopsichosocialinis požiūris, 2015, vol. 16, p. 67-91Background. The aim of the study was to assess the effectiveness of biofeed- back-assisted relaxation as well as progressive muscle relaxation in reducing per- ceived stress with regard to personality features. Method. The subjects of the study were 177 university students, 143 of which participated in the course of six sessions. The subjects participated either in four progressive muscle relaxation sessions (n=47) or four biofeedback-assisted relaxation sessions (n=48). Subjects in the comparison group participated only in the 1st and the 6th sessions without relaxation training. Biofeedback-assisted relaxation was conducted using NeXus – 10 device (The Neth- erlands). Results and conclusions. Both relaxation methods proved to be effective in reducing perceived stress. Changes in perceived stress were related to the type of relaxation, personality characteristics, and their intensity.
