Today oral history is used not only by historians, political, social, literature and culture scientists, but also by diaspora and migration specialists. The article briefly discusses the origins of oral history, oral history as a genre and a method. It points to many possibilities of using it and also talks about the challenges and problems related to it. At the end, it presents the most recent examples of oral history projects carried out in the field of diaspora and migration by Lithuanians living in Lithuania and abroad.
