Ligita Ryliškytė, SJE, is a Lecturer at The Faculty of Catholic Theology of Vytautas Magnus University (Kaunas, Lithuania), a Professor and Senior Researcher at the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University (Vilnius, Lithuania), and a Visiting Assistant Professor at Boston College (Boston, U.S.A.), where she teaches in the Theology Department and the School of Theology and Ministry. She is also a member of the Sisters of the Eucharistic Jesus, an Ignatian community of women religious, based in Lithuania. Dr. Ryliskyte holds a Ph.D. in systematic theology from Boston College (2020), where her dissertation “Cur Deus cruciatus?: Lonergan’s Law of the Cross and the Transpositions of ‘Justice over Power,’” was awarded as the best dissertation of the year in humanities. Her main areas of interest are Christology and soteriology, especially in light of Bernard J. F. Lonergan’s contribution, Augustinian-Thomist tradition, and biblical theology. She has recently published “Conversion: Falling into Friendship Like No Other” (Theological Studies), “Metaphor and Analogy in Theology: A Choice between Lions and Witches, and Wardrobes?” (Theological Studies), “Non-Communio Trinitarian Ecclesiology: Furthering Neil Ormerod’s Account” (Irish Theological Quarterly), and “God’s Mercy: The Key Thematic Undercurrent of Paul’s Letter to the Romans” (Catholic Biblical Quarterly).
