This article offers a reasoned profile of thè state of thè research about thè history and features of thè institutes of consecrated life in Lithuania. A thematically organized catalogue, integrated with extensive bibliographical references, is provided here regarding thè studies on thè subject published in Lithuania in die period between 1998-2018. With reference to this period, an increased interest is seen for both masculine and feminine monasteries and monastic orders in Lithuania, despite thè fact that thè research is not being coordinated by institutes, but rather is thè product of individuai researchers' efforts. The research works conducted by historians are integrated with that of art historians that are equally taken into account in this study. The study concludes by noting thè growing number of both popular and academic studies on monastic life in Lithuania, although more translations from thè Lithuanian language would contribute to an easier international access to these studies.
