In all times marriage institution was, still is and will be one of the most important social and legal norms. Description of the marriage institution was changed in the course of history, depending on this time culture, relationship of the Church and the State and general outlook of the society. Marriage is very important part of family creation. It is a legal family base and condition for marriage legalization. For marriage legal registration, it must satisfy requirements, which are set according to laws. If we looked round the historical times we can assume, that this position existed during all ages. It can be also mentioned that long time those requirements for valid marriage was set by Church and it’s difficult to explain, which requirements for valid marriage the State took from Church and on the contrary. But It’s quite clear , that requirement of different spouses sex still is and will be as a main condition for valid marriage. Lithuanian laws and also church position to samesex marriage is the same: they both prohibit this type of marriage. [...]en
